Windows on the Green
Windows on the Green Condominiums is a refined mid-rise residential community located along Erin Mills Parkway, blending modernist sensibilities with warm, natural materials to create an inviting, enduring presence. The development offers a balance of contemporary condominium living with a design language that is both timeless and approachable, aimed at residents seeking comfort, convenience, and connection to their surroundings.
The architecture is composed of clean, rectilinear volumes arranged in a series of articulated wings, each punctuated by generous glazing and layered façade treatments. The stepped building heights and varied rooflines reduce the visual massing and create a rhythm that responds sensitively to the surrounding context. The central entry pavilion acts as a focal point—its double-height glass façade and stone-clad feature wall projecting a sense of arrival and transparency.
The material palette combines soft-hued masonry, rich stone veneer, horizontal fibre-cement siding, and expansive curtainwall glazing. Dark-toned siding frames the lighter brick infill, while the stacked stone accents provide tactile warmth and a connection to natural textures. Glass guardrails on balconies maintain openness and maximize views, while carefully recessed terraces add depth to the façade and provide residents with sheltered outdoor living spaces.
As the name suggests, windows are a defining element. Floor-to-ceiling glazing in key areas and large picture windows throughout ensure ample natural light penetration and strong visual connections to the landscaped surroundings. The uppermost floors feature taller window bands, giving the roofline a light and airy quality.
The development is set within manicured gardens and walkways, with pedestrian-friendly approaches leading to the main lobby. Plantings of trees, shrubs, and perennial gardens soften the building’s edges, while open lawns and seating areas encourage community interaction. At night, architectural lighting subtly washes the stone and glass surfaces, enhancing the building’s welcoming presence.
The lobby interior extends the exterior’s sophisticated material palette inside, with natural stone feature walls, rich wood accents, and expansive glazing that floods the space with daylight. Comfortable lounge seating and a linear fireplace create a warm, community-oriented gathering space for residents and visitors alike.
Windows on the Green is designed to express contemporary elegance without sacrificing human scale or warmth. The architecture emphasizes light, openness, and connection to nature—making it a development that not only respects its context but also enriches the daily lives of its residents.
